As Pop Fizz Paper is making some changes and discontinuing the planner kit something even more exciting is in the works I can feel it.

With that thought in mind I wanted to share with you my top 5 favorite stickers from a pop fizz paper weekly kit. We all use stickers differently but sometimes hearing how someone else does it can inspire your creative juices. So let's jump right in!

1. Checklist flags 

a. I have always been more of a fan of a checklist flag rather than a full checklist box.
b. I love the designs on the flags and that they are not just solid colors
c. I use these specifically to track my to dos for the day for my general life I like more of a white space look for these
d. Checklist flags give a very open feeling that I love

2. Half box checklist 

a. These are my favorite way to track short things for certain tasks for example like a short cleaning list, specific things for a podcast
b. I can put a header on top of these or thin washi with whatever label I want
c. It allows me to pair them with my next favorite sticker

3. Half boxes with flags 

a. I love these for tracking a big event and then using the above sticker for tasks I need to do with the highlighted event
b. I also like to use these to highlight big major things for my family or for my school job
c. The flags let me write in them or use an icon if I want to

4. Open flag labels 

a. These are by far my favorite label because they are so white space. I love the look and feel and I can use them to highlight an event or I can use them to tell me to take some time off
b. The design and width are perfect and can really be used for anything you can even use them vertically

5. Washi strips

a. I absolutely love the washi strips! They are great for adding some decor
b. I use them a lot to cover up a header
c. My biggest use is during the weekend to make the weekend standout without having to use a full box

Its Juanita again! Today I want to share with you how I like to use these adorable guinea pig stickers.

But first, meet Merry and Pippin. Two of my three fur babies that I love dearly.

I really love these guinea pig stickers because they are so customizable. I color mine to look like my little hobbits and they turned out great! These stickers take colored pencil really nicely!

They look so cute in my planner and I love to use them to mark when its time to clean their cages or for bath time.

Hi guys, Dani here! Today I thought I would share my May monthly spread in my personal sized planner with you. I used SewMuchCrafting monthly inserts, Tombow Irojiten colored pencils, and the Summertime You-Color-It stickers from our shop.

Because these are personal sized pages, there wasn't a ton of room for decorating so I kept it fairly simply. I colored in the stickers with the Tombow pencils in pretty spring colors. The "Tranquil" colorway worked perfectly!

I can't do a spread of any sort without some washi, so I added some grass washi to the bottom of the pages. I also created a shelf (sorta? kinda?) with the wood washi. I really liked how I colored the flower pot sticker and wanted to feature it prominently on the page. 

I like how the stickers let you use whatever colors you want so you can coordinate with your spread. I tried to color them in so that they had a bit of shading, but I think I need more practice, lol. :D

Overall though, I'm really pleased with how these little pages turned out! I still have to write in some important to-do's and dates, but I wanted to go ahead and share now.

I have had so much fun this last month working here at PopFizzPaper helping Dani not go insane and creating new designs for you all to be sticking in your planners. It's been great seeing you all oh and aw over my babies, and hearing more ideas of what you all want. So I thought it would be interesting showing you how I design all of the new stickers I've been working on.

I'm old fashioned, and while I know they have drawing tablets and such and even my laptop has a touch screen I still use good old pen and paper. I think every artist has their own specific tools they prefer and mine for illustration are Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens in black and I have all the sizes available, I know there are so many brands out there but this is my brand ya know. My next MUST have for this type of work is a Prismacolor Col-Erase in No Copy Blue. As for erasers and pencil sharpeners I get what ever is on sale, my only requirement for sharpners is that it has to have a container to catch the shavings as I sharpen my pencil CONSTANTLY.

So I start out any sticker (in this case my dog care stickers) with a rough sketch and erase only major and distracting mistakes. This is loose and light at first but as I start to get an idea of the shape and look I want I darken the lines I want to keep. It's really important to keep the lead nice and sharp for my personal style, so my sharpener is always nearby. 

Once I am pretty satisfied with what I want, out comes the Pitt Artist Pens. These just glide on so nicely and are permanent and waterproof (although not dog proof so luckily non toxic). This is where I finally decide which lines I'm going to keep and which are history. Here's where the magic happens I don't have to worry at all with those messy blue lines they can stay for prosperity because when I scan this final image they won't show up.

Next I email Dani the finished images and she comes back with any critiques or feedback and either one of us will finish it off. I work right in Silhouette Studio from here as it is usually the easiest. I will also tweak any lines here sometimes evening out a dodgy line or fixing where a dog nudged my hand, etc. Finally I choose colours for that sticker and the rest of the set and put them in place.

Off to Dani the finished file goes and then the most exciting part, she mails me the finished sheet. The most important part of the process is me fawning over the real thing in my hand that I designed and pondering how lucky I am to have a job I love! Oh and stick them in my planner and enjoy them.
