Being a person in this world can be stressful. Having a creative outlet is an important way to release the stress of the day and just spend some "me" time. I have found solace in art and crafts. One way I enjoy releasing stress and caring for myself is to create a work of art in my art journal.
PopFizzPaper has released a set of January Journal Prompts that are undated. You can use any one you like as the mood strikes you. Depending on your day, use one or more and fill that creative outlet anyway you choose.
I decided I wanted to practice my water-coloring. I gathered my supplies: watercolors, brushes, stickers, a few stamp pads, a stamp that said Dream, a few random things and of course the Jan Journal Prompts. I searched over the prompts and selected the very last one as my inspiration. "If you could be anywhere right now, where would that be?"
I began painting. The answer to that prompt was very easy. I have Irish heritage and it has always been a dream of mine to go to Ireland. At this stage of my life, I may never get to go. But releasing this dream onto this white sheet of paper, helps me and I now feel as if maybe I will get there one day. There is always tomorrow.
As the end of my "dream" began to be complete, I pulled the prompt off the sticker sheet and placed it where I thought it should be on the page. I also included a date sticker on the page. I felt as if the date of January 1st held some significance for me; That maybe if the dream of being on the PopFizzPaper Creative Team could come true, why not keep dreaming of that trip to Ireland.
And so, with the added feature of stickers, sequins, and a bit of bling and stamping, I completed the art that was all inspired by a sheet of Journal Prompts. If you look closely, you can see me, standing on the top of that steep cliff in Ireland. The wind blowing through my hair and my heritage deep in my soul.
