What do you do with your left over design paper? Don't throw it away! I've got a cute little DIY for you that you can do in a matter of minutes. Grab your left over PopFizzPaper design paper from your planner kits, any scrap paper, or construction paper don't worry about the size whether it's an 8x7 or 12x12 or even smaller because...

I'm going to show you how to make a folder with two pockets out that paper. This little folder will be perfect to put stickers in and mail to your friends, hole punch and add to your planner, or use it to store stickers or sticky notes for on-the-go. The possibilities are endless!

Materials you will need are:
Design Paper, Scrap Paper, or Construction Paper
A ruler, adhesive tape or glue, and a pair of scissors
Decorative items such as washi, embellishments, stickers, die-cuts, etc.

First, you will need to decide what size of folder you want. I am going to be making mini folders that will end up being about 3 in x 6 in . I started with about an 8 in x 8 in sheet of paper. Measure with a ruler or use a paper cutter to cut down your sheet if you want feel free to start with a 12 in x 12 in paper or an 8 in x 11 in sheet.

Once you have your sheet fold it in half from right to left, then fold it inside out [both ways] so that you are making a deep crease down the center because you'll be needing one of the folds for later on.
Next, fold the bottom part upward about 4 to 5 inches. Whatever your size of your sheet is you want your bottom part to fold upward about half the height of your paper because that part is going to be your pockets and you want to make sure you have enough height to put items in securely once the sides are glued down.

Lay your paper flat after you've made your folds. Grab your ruler and place it on the right side of your paper and you are going to measure 1/2 inch and fold at the 1/2 inch mark. Do the same thing to the other side.

The bottom part that is going to be folded up you are going to need your scissors to cut a small incision. [See photo below where to cut] You're basically going to be cutting a 1/2 rectangular off the bottom sides so that the bottom sides don't over lap onto the pocket because it's going to make those bottom corners thicker which in my photo I kind of forgot to do that so I want to make I informed you about that before you do the same thing. It's totally fine if you do forget this step the bottom sides will just be thicker and you'll have to add some extra glue to hold that thickness together.

Now we are going to make the pockets. So, fold your paper in half from right to left again and in the middle part start at about 3/4 of an inch from the bottom and cut upward to the fold part of your pocket line. Put your scissors down and fold the bottom part up; you should have two pockets that are the same size!

And, it's time to glue the sides down so make sure you're using a stronger glue or adhesive tape because you don't want the sides to peel up. There you go; you have your folder!
You can stop here if you want to keep your folder simple or if you're like me and like to decorate things then grab those craft items you have next to you and craft away!

I added some washi to the bottom corner, some puffy heart stickers, and in the center I just got a piece of gold sheer design paper and cut it into a small square; added die-cut feathers to the corners and alpha stickers in the center. That's it go ahead an add your goodies to the inside of your new folder!
