Using a Horizontal kit in an Vertical Erin Condren
Hi everyone! This is my last blog for PopFizzPaper for the 2016 year and I am going to show you a Plan With Me using the PopFizzPaper Charming Horizontal kit for this last week of December in my Erin Condren vertical.
I kind of wished I did a video because it would have made this Plan With Me a little more easier and fun but you all are going to get a detailed description of how my process works. Yes, it'll be a little long but it's a great read; I promise. Everyone plans differently and I noticed my first steps are always the same every week that I plan even if in my mind I want to try a different process. What you're going to need is all your planning supplies; I am going to be using the Charming kit stickers from PopFizzPaper, an exacto knife, and some glitter washi tape from the PopFizzPaper shop.
I always start with my washi whether I am using washi tape or bottom washi stickers that come in the kits. Since I am using a horizontal kit I decided not to cut that bottom washi that comes in the kit instead I wanted to use these blue and gold glitter washi tapes that I got from the PopFizzPaper shop. After I placed down my bottom washi, I grab my exacto knife and trimmed the corners of the washi so that it's even with the weekly boxes above it. I added my "Today" headers to the top boxes. Next, I like to do my side bar. This section varies from week-to-week depending on what's going on. I start the side bar by adding a deco full box sticker to the top left corner of that left page to cover up the "Thankful Thoughts" box. 98% of the time I do not cover the Erin Condren flag that comes on the page because it usually matches the kit I use and I just think it's cute so I let it be. This week I added my "To Go", "Next Week", and "Habits" headers with a weekly checklist full box or weekly strip with a couple of habit icons next to it so that way I know what I'm tracking for the week in this case it'll be workouts and cooked meals.
After my side bar is done I fill in the week... I start with Monday and work my way to the weekend. I always fold my planner in half when I do the first half of my week because I flip the planner in many directions when I place stickers down because certain angles help me place down my stickers more evenly and precise. Personally, if I didn't do this some stickers would come out crooked.
Starting with Monday my "Today" section is for any bills due or for important things that have to for sure get done while my "To Do" section is for things I "want" to get done that if I don't I can just do it the next day. First section, I added two small flags with an icon, and a bill due sticker. Middle section I added a "To Do" header with a flagged half box with an icon, a blank pastel green header, a deco full box, and another flagged half box. Tuesday- I added a "Not Today" sticker [usually if one of these stickers appears it means I want a lazy day], a flagged half box with an icon, a blank pastel green header below that, a deco full box, a "To Do" header, and a PFP CT blog full box checklist. Wednesday- looks busy especially since Tuesday has that "lazy day" sticker on it. I added from top to bottom a "Payday" sticker, two full box checklists, a blank pastel green header, and a deco full box with a flagged half box ontop of that. First half of the week stickers are DONE!
Now onto the second half of the week. I add my glitter washi tapes to the bottom and trimmed the sides with my exacto knife. Placed "Today" headers at the top boxes of Thursday and Friday only. I like to add a weekend banner to the top of Saturday and Sunday boxes instead of "Today" headers. Since this kit is again a horizontal kit the weekend banner in the kit is vertical so instead I used a glitter "Weekend" banner from PopFizzPaper. I added yellow pastel blank headers to the top of the weekend boxes and placed my "Weekend" banner on top of them. Next, I flipped my planner on the side because it's easier for me to place down my checklists more precisely. I used two mini checklist flags and I separated the two with a thin deco washi strip because I plan to use one section for cleaning to do's and the other for calls I need to make.
Then I continued filling in the rest of my end of the week. Middle box of Thursday I added a "To Do" header, a full box checklist, a PFP CT half box checklist, a deco washi strip, and a half checklist box with a TV icon because those bottom checklists are for shows I plan to watch or catch up on. Friday, I placed down two checklist full boxes and separeted them with a "To Do" header. I also placed a "Friyay" banner sticker right below my "Today" header. I added my PFP CT half box checklist, a deco full box, and a half checklist with a TV icon for my shows. Saturday starts with a deco washi strip, a CT reminder, a "To Do" header, left some white space in case something important comes up, a flagged half box with a paw print icon, a blank pastel green header, another flagged half box with an icon, and lastly a half box checklist for TV shows. It's New Year's Eve nothing too exciting is planned as of right now other than celebrating the new year probably at home with my little family and some fun noise makers and decorations but this plan could change! Lastly, is Sunday; the 1st of 2017! Can you believe we are going into the year 2017!? It's so crazy. Okay, so again it's the first which means bills are due! So as you can see I have "Bill Due" stickers, a "To Do" header, a flagged sticker with a dollar sign icon, a deco full box, a blank pastel green header, left some white space for extra planning, and a flagged half box with a football sticker because the Packers play in the evening.
Everything is placed down for this week and my final touches are to add some decorative stickers from the kit onto the bottom washi and to the top of the week above the dates as well as any other little PopFizzPaper stickers from my collection that need to remind me of something for the week. I decided since this week the Erin Condren colors matched this kit I didn't add any date covers just some small decorative heart sticker to the top for extra cuteness. I also like to add above the dates some icons of the most important things happening for that day whether it's a bill due, a birthday, happy mail, dollar signs to remind me to pays bills, etc. I need the extra reminding some times in case laziness kicks in.
Last but not least is to grab a pen to fill in the details of what's going on. I went ahead and penned in my plans for the week and as you can see not everything is completely filled in because I'll fill more in when that particular day comes.
