DIY Festive Fall Decor

Happy Fall Everyone! Well at least if you’re on this side of the world. To everyone else I guess I should say Happy… Spring? ;) Fall is my favorite time of year! Everything about it makes me happy- I love the crisp cool air, the bright colorful leaves, decorating with pumpkins, wearing big scarves, and drinking hot chocolate. It’s just the best. I wanted to add some festive décor around my computer desk that could stay up through Thanksgiving and I did just that using supplies from the November PopFizzPaper Planner Kit!
Here’s what I used:
The adhesive wood stickers came from the Target Dollar Spot. I decided on the size of my flags based on the size of the letters I was using to spell out Thankful. Each flag measured 3 inches across. After the flags were cut I alternated washi at the top of each one to help reinforce the holes I’d be making. Using my 1/8” hole punch I made 2 holes on each flag in order to string them together.
I also picked out a few of the feather die cuts from the kit and hole punched those as well. Then using gold metallic cord (also from the Dollar Spot) I strung them all together! Make sure you have your pieces in order before you get started- there’s nothing worse than getting half way through, realizing you have a letter in the wrong spot, and having to take everything off and start over!
And voila! It is literally that easy. Banners like this are a great way to decorate without having to invest a ton of money into each season or holiday. This was inexpensive but the bright colors from the kit pack a big punch making a significant impact on an otherwise neutral space!
I hope you enjoyed this fun tutorial and I hope you’re all loving your planner kits for November! The colors had me ooing and ahhing all over the place. There were a lot of fun surprises in the add-on kit too. I can’t wait to see what is in store next month! Don’t forget to post photos in the Facebook group “PopFizzPaper Fans” of how you’re using this month’s kit! Thanks for stopping by!
