Hot Air Balloon 3D Card
Hello Hello Everyone! It’s Juanita here and boy oh boy do I have something fun to share with you. I don’t know about you but I was completely inspired by the June planner kit that we received this month. I wanted to make something fun and girlie and this is exactly what I had in mind.
Yes folks, I have taken on the woven hot air balloon that has haunted my Pinterest feed for the last three years. Check out the PaperMatrix website for templates and tutorials on how to make this wonderful little hot air balloon.
But lets talk about the rest of the card before we get to the hot air balloon. I grabbed some items from the planner kit that really spoke to me and I added some other items from my craft stash.
I started by taking the description card from the kit folding it in half and adding a white glitter piece of scrap cardstock. The adorable white and gold foil polka-dot washi was used to line the edges and create a cute shinny frame.
Next, I grabbed another scrap of white glitter cardstock and decorated it with the hearts from the decorative sheet and added some dots from the headers and flags sheet. I picked my favorite quote from the decorative sheet and mounted it on the black and white polka-dot paper.
I used 3D foam dots to attach the quote to the decorative scrap paper. I then glued the whole thing to the card.
Inspiration didn’t stop there. Oh no! I created a banner using the teeny tiny oh so small flags from the header and flag sheet. I used twisted washi tape to make a rope to attach the flags to the card. I think it turned out pretty cute!
Now we get to the hot air balloon. This thing was a beast! My original idea for this post was to do a tutorial on how to make this balloon. But honestly it can really only be done as a video. So, if you want to see a tutorial on how to make the hot air balloon please leave a comment! I would love to take the time to show you guys how this can be done because yes, it can be done.
To finish off the card I attached the hot air balloon with more 3D foam tape. So, its kinda like a pop up card/display for the adorable sticky notes that were included in June’s kit. Plus, the gem pen just brings the whole thing together. And it’s Fabulous!!!
Happy Crafting!
