DIY Laminated Paperclips.

Hi there! Have you all been creating with your June Planner Kits? As soon as I got mine I knew I wanted to make some sassy embellished paperclips with the decorative sticker sheet so I took photos along the way to share with all of you! The great thing about the method I used is that it gives the glossy look of lamination without the cost of a laminator! All it takes is clear packing tape!
Here’s a look at what you’ll need!
You can make these in any shape either freehand or with a paper punch! It’s up to you! It’ll look best if it fits within in the width of your packing tape to avoid any seams so keep that in mind as you are choosing your shape! For my first one I made a simple flag out of the paper from the kit. I layered some of the gold washi and then put down the sticker “Fries before guys” (I think it’s going to be my new life mantra- sorry husband!). Then for added thickness and color contrast I cut another flag slightly larger and glued them together!
Once you are happy with your embellishment it’s time to laminate! Cut 2 pieces of tape larger than the paper and lay one down sticky side up. Place your embellishment in the center and cover with the second piece of tape face down. Firmly seal together and smooth out any air bubbles. Trim the excess tape evenly around the edges to match the shape of your paper!
Now all you have to do is glue the paperclip to the back with your hot glue gun, let it dry, and you have a snazzy embellished paperclip with a laminated look and feel!
Here are a couple other designs I made!
I’m so happy with how these turned out! Embellishing paperclips is such a fun and easy way to get crafty without much effort. I find it to be a great way to unwind after a long day! Plus, they look so cute peeking out of your planner!
If you like embellishing paperclips too I’d love for you to tag me on Instagram so I can see!
